Bethany's Top Wedding Tips

Try to get your flowers booked in as soon as you can.

We always recommend trying to get your flowers booked in as soon as you can. We do get booked up quickly especially for popular dates in the year ie bank holiday weekends etc. Our diary is open 2 years in advance and we do receive bookings that early, so if your thinking about leaving it last minute we wouldn't advise it as we may not be available at that late stage.

To book us for your wedding, we require a deposit of £200 or 20% of your order value if your wedding exceeds £1000 this will then secure your date and flowers.

Have a consultation with our manager Bethany.

We would always recommend attending or having a consultation with Bethany to discuss your flowers in full. This can be done in store, face time, email or phone. At this stage we can discuss your likes, dislikes and styles your looking to go for. Bethany will then advise on all areas of your wedding flowers and make suggestions and options for you to choose from.

Colour scheme & style.

Knowing what you like is just as important as knowing what you don't like. Bringing lots of pictures to your consultation is the best way to help convey what you have in mind for your floral displays. We LOVE pinterest check out our page and you'll find some amazing inspo.

Flower availability.

Try to consider the season in which you are getting married and look at the flower availability at that time. The date of your wedding plays an important role in your choice, especially if you're budget conscious as there are certain period in the year where flower prices do increase.

Talk to your florist regarding this however there are lots of amazing flowers available year-round. If you're getting married during the hot summer months, or outside where the elements like temperature and durability in the wind come into play, you'll need your flowers to be sturdy enough to last the day. Your florist can advise on varieties that may work best in these cases.

Budgets.

Most Brides/Grooms find that flowers are an important part of their day but sometimes forget to include them in the planning from the start. On your consultation we will normally ask if you have a budget in mind. The reasoning for this is when we know you have a budget and a theme/colour scheme in mind, we are able to advise you right from the beginning on styles and varieties to ensure you have something you are happy with that works with your budget.

Extras are important.

The extras are those finishing touches that transform a room into a wedding. Things that are often overlooked such as fresh rose petals for your confetti shower or scattered up either side of the aisle. A bouquet to throw as you may not wish to throw your own bridal bouquet. Candles to set the scene and create that perfect romantic atmosphere, What compliments a centrepiece can be as important as the arrangement itself.

When you think wedding flowers the standard things are bridal bouquets, buttonholes and centrepieces. However its important to consider other areas of your wedding too. For instance your aisle flowers, this is somewhere you will have a lot of your wedding pictures taken. Even the simplest of floral displays can frame you and your partner and make those all important pictures extra special. Guest welcome areas and signs these are the things that your guest will remember, that extra thought to personalise certain areas of your venue with flowers.
